• Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.

Popular Facebook applications have been secretly transmitting user data to third party advertisers again? Say it isn’t so! Thanks to "Oldie" for the linkage.

The WSJ Facebook's 10 most popular applications are among those transmitting users' IDs to outside companies. The report also highlights the ongoing problem of the "app gap" -- Facebook users who don't use applications are still at risk of having their personal information shared with third parties if they're Facebook "friends" with people who do.

It's deliberate and they got caught. Again. Now their PR machine is going into overdrive to stop the lies. How else do you think they make money? They sell you info. Duh.

That's why my Facebook page looks like this:

Why more people don't choose to not share info no-one other than advertisers gives a shit about anyway is beyond me.

Again people need to learn if it is on the internet it is not private, as said above, facebook makes money by selling data, your data you enter into their site.

Accept it and enjoy facebook for what it is, a "FREE" tools to whore your self around on, or stay in touch with people.

This is why I use Facebook under a false name that my friends recognize. Anyone searching for my real name won't find me. Anyone contacting me using my fake name thinking its my real name isn't really my friend. I wouldn't use Facebook under the condition of using my real name (or real other info such as birth date, which I faked as well).

I understand Facebook isn't supposed to let people use fake names. Well if they catch me, they can feel free to kick me off their service, I really won't care too much.

I don't buy the "false name" crap that people use. To me that's just tin foil-tacular.

However, I abide by the rule that I do not post anything on FB that I wouldn't want people I don't know to see. Which means I do not speak ill about my employer, among other things. The "privacy" issue on facebook is just people being carefree with their "private" information.

If you're posting it online, it's not private, period. If you don't want certain people to know that you're married, have 5 kids, staunchly Catholic, and love the New York Yankee's, don't put it on your facebook page.
