F@H Work Folder Question

So I got permission to borg someone's machine. This is my first borg, so I grabbed the F@H Console and ran it, problem is, it's putting the work folder and other files it creates on the desktop, they don't mind the client running but don't like it cluttering their desktop. Is there someway to move these folders/files? When I switched to the console on my machine it just used my /program files/folding@hiome/work folder. Can I just put it there or is there someway to have it put the files elsewhere. Looking at a 1.75GHZ P4 to add.

move the client into c:\folding or what not.

Start>run> browse to the client and config.

Yea, I've had it do this too, the start>run seems to keep this form happening

Like marty said, move it somewhere else and then run it. Put it in service mode so it won't get in their way.

Well I did have it in another folder Program files/F@H, ran it in config mode and it still created those desktop folders

Check the registry setting HKLM>System>CurrentControlSet>Services>FAH@blahblahblah... and make sure the blahblahblahblah is pointing to the correct location of the executable. Its the ImagePath value.

Ok, after figiting it finally works, I did somehow put 2 copies of the service (one for each directory) So looks we're up and running. thanks for the help guys! I'll make sure to add this to the D folder.

Trust me, do the start button > run > deal, it works for some strange reason.

I think if you just couble click the file it used the desktop directory as the local directory or somethign like that

I've always made a shortcut to the file, and added the -configonly flag.... I've never run into that problem? I create a new folder everytime I install... and then copy/download the exe into it.... make a shortcut, and go from there....

Keep on Folding!! For the [H]orde!!

That is an interesting situation - I have not been able to recreate it (the original problem). I am interested in how you solved it, just in case this comes up again and someone else needs advice on the solution.

I know what I would advise, but I am interested in how you solved it.
