Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Sometimes I get work units where instead of the normal messages it instead shows:
Finished a frame(100)
Finished a frame(101)
and so on...what is this all about? It goes on forever it seems. How do I choose to do work units that are just the normal type that go to 100 and that's it?
That would be a Tinker core work unit. Tinker is the original core of this project. It runs with no optimizations and use nothing but the CPUs true floating point processing power. That's why they usually run nearly twice as fast on an AMD (XP, MP or 64) vs an Intel P4 at the same MHz.
Running your folding with the -advmethods flag and setting allow big packet work units will usually keep getting Tinkers to a minimum.
