Hey guys, I have a question regarding monitors. I am currently running eyefinity with 3x 24" (Dell 2408WFP). I am running 2x 5870s to achieve eyefinity gameplay, but have noticed myself switching to single monitor more and more. Eyefinity is absolutely great, but I don't find myself gaming near as much as I used to. School has really taken a big toll on me and I am getting very involved into programming for classes.
I have been contemplating a 30". I've always liked the idea of a nice big IPS panel and the resolution would be very welcome for me. As it stands now I only use two monitors for Windows and have the third monitor as an external display for my Macbook. I connect the two units with Synergy+ so I can seamlessly switch between my Macbook and my Windows machine.
I will definitely benefit from a multi-monitor setup. Having at least 2 monitors is what I am aiming for. I was thinking of getting a 30" and keeping one of my 24" monitors. This would allow me to use double displays and sell the other two off for a bit of cash. The two 30" monitors I have been researching are the HP ZR30W and the Dell U3011.
Has anyone gone through a similar change? If so, what are your thoughts? Have a 30" monitor? How is it compared to an eyefinity setup?
