i did look, but solutions always appeared to apply to different configs or differ drivers sets.

hardware, see 1090T rig in sig.

Q1 - where is bezel correction?
Q1.1 - is there a non-arcane way of making it work?

Q2 - why is Dirt2 so stretched?
Q2.1 - why are people suggesting using the wrong aspect (5:4) to fix this problem?

Q3 - is there any way to swap between an eyefinity group for gaming, and a sensible
set-up with the main-desktop centred so i don't get neck-ache?

Q4 - am i just old and grumpy, or is eyefinity really this much of a ball-ache?

many thanks.

Look under profiles in the catalyst control center. Save a profile in normal mode and eyefinity mode. I made desktop shortcuts to switch.

Bezel correction, if I'm not mistaken, is only shown when you first make the eyefinity grouping.

incorrect. there is a small black triangle to the far right on the monitor group in the CCC display properties. from there you can select to run the bezel util again.

i don't have that. :(

there is apparanetly a registry scrip that you can run, but win7 refuses to allow it to execute....

You seriously don't have that black drop down triangle?

I'm not sure how you have your grouping setup then or what version of the CCC you are running.

And where did they give you as script to fix that?

Q1 - where is bezel correction?
- Can not use mixmatched monitors, I've got 2 U2410's and 1 2407 and can't use it.

Q1.1 - is there a non-arcane way of making it work?
- Not that I know of right now...

Q2 - why is Dirt2 so stretched?
- Games are not yet designed to be that wide so this is the game trying to give you something to see that far out.

Q2.1 - why are people suggesting using the wrong aspect (5:4) to fix this problem?
- Never heard of that one.

Q3 - is there any way to swap between an eyefinity group for gaming, and a sensible set-up with the main-desktop centred so i don't get neck-ache?
- Make the Eyefinity group and create a profile for it in the profile manager and have it create short cut on the desktop for it. Now do the same for the standard desktop setup.

Q4 - am i just old and grumpy, or is eyefinity really this much of a ball-ache?
- And all women are bitches, but putting up with them is worth it*!

*for most of us...

so long as they are all running the same resolution, yes you can. Your issue is the 2407 is 16:10 (1920x1200) and the 2410s are 16:9 (1920x1080). you can go set the 2407 to 1920x1080 in the display control panel and create a group. it won't look all that great on that one monitor though. Matched resolutions is the only monitor requirement.

there are plenty of games that do have FOV corrections for "non-standard" resolutions. Others don't require it because their graphics engine is setup to handle the FOV from those resolutions.

it has to be within 8% or so for bezel to work.
I set my odd screen 1920x1200 then eyefinity group works, if I set it at 1920x1080 then eyefinity dosnt.
quirks of eyefinity ;)
and no bezel adjustments here either :D

I'm sorry but you are incorrect, the U2410 is a 1920x1200 rez just like the 2407 and I do not have bezel correction as an option. Matched resoultions are not the only requirement for bezel correction. Now were you thinking I meant I couldn't make an eyefinity group? If so, no my reply was to his quesiton on whether he could use bezel correction or not.

You're right, my reading comprehension has failed. As has my ability to Bing Dell monitors. Didn't know when and what model lines rolled over to the 16:9 panels. :)

And as punishment, I went and read some of the Eyefinity whitepapers last night. It looks like they are taking information from the EDID to block the bezel compensator and grouping functions.

Specifically the DPI values are the blockers for bezel compensation. The 2407 apparentley reports at < 96 dpi while the 2410 is reporting 96 dpi.

There's an EDID toolset you can see what the monitors are reporting;

There are a few EDID editors out there if you feel so inclined to fake ATIs package out.

With that, I'll back away from the keyboard and go wipe the egg off my face.

Q2 - why is Dirt2 so stretched?

A2: For Dirt 2 you set the aspect ratio to "Normal", and then change to whatever your Eyefinity resolution is. 5760x1080 or whatever. Dirt 2 is actually one of the more Eyefinity friendly titles out there. There is some stretching at the extreme left and right, but the huds all look the way they are supposed to.

Q2.1 - why are people suggesting using the wrong aspect (5:4) to fix this problem?

A2.1: I have no idea. On both of my Eyefinity setups, having Dirt2's aspect ratio set to "Normal" looks the best, 16:9 and 16:10 look stretched out, while 4:3, 5:3, and 5:4 look like complete ass.

You sir are a scholar and a gentleman, I shall try those and see if I can enjoy some bezel management myself. :D

sorry, i have the black triangle, but not the bezel correction option within it.

cheers all, lets hope ATI relax the restrictions on bezel correction sometime soon.

its not as if my 24" 16:10 U2405 is greatly different from my 24" 16:10 E248's, i should be allowed to select bezel correction!
