Eyefinity Question?

Does the addition of extra monitors (aka raising the resolution) require anymore horse power than the normal methodology would suggest?

I ask because the normal methodology would be that a better processor is required to game at a higher resolution. (1900x1200 vs 1280x1024) (5870 vs 5770).

I ask because I'm very interested in the 5 head Powercolor 5770 and if I can get acceptable results with it powering say 5 x 23" monitors in a triple crossfire scenario then I would lean that way versus needing to get 2x5870's to do 3x 23" monitors.

Thanks for the input.

Tri and quad crossfire is currently broken with eyefinity, and people are reporting that they are getting mixed results with dual card crossfire. Almost everybody is using multiples of the 5970/58xx cards, I haven't seen anyone try to use dual/triple 57xx in eyefinity yet.

With that in mind in may be safer to stick with a single card solution till they get the kinks worked out. ;) Maybe by the next generation of cards.
