When creating an eyefinity display group, I've noticed a couple of things:
1. It can take 10-15 attempts for the display group to 'set'. When creating a 2x1 desktop, the first 10 or so times it will simply set windows to 'duplicate these displays', then eventually it will suddenly work as expected. Is there any way to speed this up so it takes less tries to achieve?
2. Eyefinity does not seem to allow 'extra' monitors outside the group. When a DVI monitor is attached to the system, the 2 displays (1 tiled) eyefinity display group is removed, and eyefinity will no longer allow creation of a display group. Is there any way round this?
The latter is relatively unimportant, but point 1 basically makes it a diceroll whether this particular PC will work at the correct resolution or not. On a day it doesn't, you just have to give up and use a different PC. I understand eyefinity is still pretty broken technology, but given how many people seem to be using it, has anyone found any workarounds for this?
Thanks
PC being used here is the third in my sig, with an HD7770 connected over DP-mDP to a Dell UP3214Q.
