So i currently have a normal xfx 5870 and just bought 3 dell u2412m which run at 1920x1200 resolution. I'm pretty sure I wont have any problems doing normal things such as web surfing and what not but how will it handle games? If it has troubles, can i just have it play on 1 monitor? I dont really game much

I don't see why not. You will just have to adjust the quality down some. I just recently (yesterday) ordered 2 more zr24w's and a Chief KTP325 stand, I'll let you know how my CF 5870's handle games .... but I don't really play many graphically intense ones.

I don't wonder, I have a 5870 running 3600x1920. :p The system will play everything, but with newer games expect to turn down settings. Bad Company 2 runs with a combination of medium and high settings. Metro needs to be turned down to normal and at 3150x1680 to run decent. That said, my next upgrade will be the 6970 replacement (7970?).

Running 5760x1200 and i'm not happy with trifire 5870s let alone one. I guess it really depends on how much you care about turning off eye candy.

BAH!

So I found out that HP's original run of ZR24W's were defective. They were shipped out with an incorrect EDID (The thing that tells your computer stuff about the monitor). My original ZR24W bought a year ago reports that it is a 25.3" monitor. Therefore when I go to configure Eyefinity it thinks that I have 3 ZR24W's but of different sizes. AMD does not support monitors of different sizes for bezel correction, so I cannot use my identical monitors for my Eyefinity setup.

Now I am stuck sitting in customer support hell hoping that they will replace my older monitor with a newer one that correctly reports its size as a 24" monitor.

I have a 5870 with 3 similar monitors Dell 2407wfp. I don't use eyefinity much mainly cuz I've been playing MMOs and doing benchmarks. But I just play on the middle monitor. The left and right show meters, webpage, and pandora.

I have noticed a performance hit on some games when I used eyefinity. I did have to drop some of the settings though. But I found the support for eyefinity lacking. Thats the bigger reason I didn't use it much.
