do you think it would be cool to have an external video card for laptops? or do you think its even possible to have an external video card?

... no port in existence would be worth an external card... SCSI with their 400 mb/s (or is it up to 800 mb/s now? I dont use scsi..) wouldn't run any better than a pci gfx card, infact pci cards do about 900 mb/s if memory serves me.. so there would be no point what-so-ever in that.. Unless you have one of those mini cube computers, but they're not really laptops, just really small pcs

when it starts to hit agp 1x speeds.. then it might be worth it if you have a shitty non-interchangable gfx card in there by default

Now that someone has decided to develop laptop video that's upgradeable, hopefully the trend will catch on and we''ll see it from just about every major video company. That in itself will help a lot.

I wonder about that... with heat and power requirements. I doubt there will ever be any real power-house cards for the mobile market-- at least until they get the battery and thermal things better figured out.
