Is there any difference between a standard HD68 to HD68 SCSI 3 cable and a Differential HD68 to HD68 SCSI cable?? I mean, aren't they just straight through connections anyway, or does it actually matter.

If they are listed as different cables, then I would think that they were different.
I was told to never run a differential drive on a regular scsi system or the controller and possibly the other devices on the cable will get damaged which I think is because the power is wired different.

I would think that external scsi cables don't really care.
If you are talking about HVD hardware (mostly old tape drives) they ran at a higher voltage then SE/LVD and needed a different terminator.

I can tell you that i am using four of these 'lvd' cables on 2 HVD controllers right now with no issue.

That's kinda what I figured, but I thought it was strange that there were some listed as differential. Probably just another marketing scheme for people who don't realize that they're the same exact thing.

Thanks!!
