External HD solution for Macbook Pro?

I need an extra drive to handle my work and stuff for XP. I was going to originally buy a WD MyBook with eSATA/USB2.0, but I've read a lot of reviews on HD failures after about a year.

So, I figured that it'd be a better idea to just buy a Samsung Spinpoint T 500GB SATA HD and put it in this Icy Dock enclosure:

Does this sound like a better idea than going with the WD MyBook? Also, would there be any issues having the drive detect on my Macbook Pro?
