I'm looking for a good hard drive enclosure for a 150 Gig Hitachi Ultra ATA under 60 bucks. I've been looking on newegg and found some, but I'm not sure of the quality. Firewire would be a plus, having both Firewire and USB would be best. Any suggestions?

Just get one with a fan and the power supply built into the enclosure. You should be all set. There really doesn't seem to be a huge difference in quality between them other than that.

I bought a generic one off ebay 3 years ago and it is still kicking today with my 160 in it. Before that I had a DVD burner in it.

It has USB 2.0 and a fan - cost about 35 bucks. The same one is on newegg for about 28.99 or something like that. works great!

That'll up the size of the enclosure itself. The power brick may be a hassle to carry around sometimes, but I like the enclosures small. Quieter too, I'd prefer passive aluminum cooling over a plastic enclosure with a whiny fan that doesn't do anything.

I've got a Vantec Nexstar -- not so good thermal design (only the side panels are aluminum), microscopic screws are easily lost, and the LED isn't very bright at all. The new Nexstar3 enclosures do look better.

Yeah, mine has the PS and fan built into it. It is a little larger, but it is ULTRA quiet and never gets hot in there. I don't know who makes it though. I believe it is just some generic model, but it is doing an excellent job, considering I only made trades for it.
