I haven't looked in to mining in a few years now, I was just wondering if there are any strictly USB(3) solutions for hooking up external GPUs? I know there are PCI1 to USB to PCI16, but that requires one real PCI card per GPU (very logical). But a solution where you hook up the GPUs to ACTUAL USB3 ports could be even more useful. You could potentially hook up TONS of GPUs to USB ports, with a few 8 port USB3 PCI cards. Given that these are only used for mining, I would assume the limited bandwidth wouldn't really make a difference, you think?

I think right now only Thunderbolt has PCI-E passthrough.
