I have an external HDD that I use for media work (video) and it has 2 firewire ports and 1 ubs 2.0 port. I currently use the firewire on my main rig. But I just got a rendering rig, and transfering files is slow over 10/100 (wish I had gigE) but I was wondering would it work to plug the usb2 (or firewire) into the other machine and still have it be able to be read on both systems?
