external computer case for hard drives?

Hi guys:

I want to move my 10 hard drives outside my main computer case and place them in some sort of external box. I don't want a RAID Enclosure or anything, just a case. I already have purchased long SATA cables and power extension cables, i just want a little box or something. hopefully i am making some sense :)
 
Well, either you can pick up a cheap-and-nasty $20 case (like one of these), or you can get all crafty and make your own. (I'm a fan of wood myself, since it's easy to work with, cheap, and looks good, but the choice is up to you)

Out of curiosity, why do you want to move your hard drives out of your case?
 
Me being a weeaboo, I'll come out of nowhere and suggest a server-class case like the Tt Eureka.

On another note, no, I don't think there are external boxes widely available just for hard drives. Maybe for servers. You'd have to look around. If you have the fabrication skills and tools, it'd be best to create your own.

I'd venture a guess at the fact that it'd be easy to remove or replace any hard drives.
 
thanks guys, those cheap cases look good. i can't ones that cheap in Canada.. I was thinking about making a nice wood one, but i thought i would ask first before wasting my time. The reason i want to put hard drives outside my case is because i have no room for hard drives in my case right now, and i dont want to jam too much stuff inside the case because of the heat and stuffs.

You might also consider poking around Mom & Pop computer places--they might have a busted case you can pull drive mounts from, or maybe a full-blown case they just want to get rid of.

If you go the make-your-own route, you could get by really cheaply just using some 1/2" MDF and some aluminum angle.
