So i just recently got my EVGA GTS-250 for my new build. It runs everything great so im not complaining. Everything at 60fps and all settings at their highest. And i got it for like $90 instead of $130 from zipzoomfly. When registering it i noticed the step-up program, and i want to know how it works.

Considering my Mobo isnt SLI ready, i want my card to be fairly future proof. In the sence it will handle all the new games coming out easy (like COD MF2 etc).

If you know how it works (personal experience or a friend thats done it) please tell me, cause if i can trade mine in for the price they show on their website $135 with $15dollar mail in rebate...and i can then buy a http://www.evga.com/products/moreInfo.asp?pn=896-P3-1258-AR&family=Geforce 200 Series Family which is $225 but with a $30 mail in rebate. I will be paying $75-$90 for a immensely better card than i have got. If it works like that damn il be happy.

It may seem like a "good" deal but you would honestly be better off selling the card you have and then buying the GTX 260 elsewhere.

I've seen a few good 260 deals for under $130. So keep your eyes peeled. :)

Maybe i could, but i dont want the hassle, still not that trusting of any buying things used off the internet, heck i bought my 360 from my sisters friend and a month later it got red-r-of-d (luckly under warranty so it got replaced for free) but still...not that trusting. I just need someone to tell me how it works from first or second hand knowledge.

Agreed, if you stpe up from Evga you will get the lifetime warranty, you just have to ask yourself if having the warranty is worth the extra couple bucks youll pay on step up
YOu will get the full price credit towards the new card of what you paid for the card minus tax and shipping of course, and just have to pay the difference to the card you want to step up to

Scratch that, its the non overclocked version you can update to, and yeah i just noticed the FAQ and stuff so il be reading that.

Ok I'll bite...

I've used the step up program a total of 3 times over the years, each time stepping up a pair of cards (SLI).

It has been a completely painless and smooth experience for me. Just be sure to include all items in the box and document things properly. Pay the shipping online and mail the cards in with the supplied label they make you print.

Total turnaround time can vary, the longest I've had to wait was about 2 weeks for my last upgrade, which was 2 GTX 280s to GTX 285s.
