Sorry for the delayed response. So here's the latest official bios.

As a matter of fact, with the official bios SR2 (50 which was coming to the motherboard), I managed to boot the first attempt at 4GHz. with the modified bios (54), no more than 3.50ghz (3.42 stable).
I'm happy anyway, but I wanted to mention this aspect.

hi all oay so here was my issue, i just got 2 es5649 for my evgs sr2 dropped them in and then kept gettin CF error and FF led status. after contact musky he sent me a a50 and a54 bios mods not sure if the mods actually didi anything heres why.

i flashed with a56 bios and then put x3 ddr dominator 1600mhz ram modules in slot 1,3,5 on each bank and took all default setting at the bios prompt and now the system is working at stock 2.5ghz but if i OC with and drop anything in the bios greater than AUTO eg i enter 160 for cpu speed the system goes into cf ff error.

so should upload musky bios A54 and try now that i have put the ram into seperate banks and when the ram was all in right side bank kept getting cf ff error. as at present ic cant OC but my system is solid on at stock speed with the es5649.

also is there anyone else out there have es 5649 chips installed in their sr2 if so what bios are you runing and what settings for your OC thanks hope someone can help i cant be the only on withthese es chips in
 
I can confirm that the musky mod A50 and A54 roms dont work when you have dual
es5649 installed into the evga sr2 however the evga a56 stock rom does but only at default speed of 2.5ghz will investigate further have sent musky the rom god :) a request for help here.
 
I have a evga sr2 , also a X5679 es , can someone please make a bios that supports that processor .
I tried it with all stock bioses , but still it displays ff or cv or someled error.
any help is appreciated.
 
I use A54 BIOS from evga and it works fine. However, the cpus MUST be same stepping (both are B1 or both A0), or else, it wouldn't boot.
 
The SR-2 has been hovering around the $350 price bracket for a while now, but thanks for the update roguespearus
