I'm contemplating whether to get the eVGA 6800GT or the BFG one. I'm really intrigued by the Step-up program that eVGA has (allows me to upgrade to a Ultra within 90 days of purchase, by paying difference) and they also package in FarCry which I don't have..

BFG on the other hand is OC right out of the box (I don't think they will allow the eVGA GT to be tampered with), but does not include any packaged software..

So here is the question - which brand of the 6800GT do you think is better?

The eVGA card overclocks just fine, it isn't "locked down".

I'd say the eVGA board has a slight advantage because it's a bit cheaper, it overclocks just as well as any other board and it comes with FarCry.

On the flip side is the lifetime warranty by BFG.

They are known to upgrade products if you have a problem. Example: you have a Ti4600 that craps out on you they would send you a 5950 as a replacement. Not a bad way to keep customers.

I dont think you can go wrong either way. THe BFG rep frequents this forum and if his company is half as professional as he you will be fine.

eVGA is equally good based on my personal experience. I placed my order with next day air on the web. I called them and asked for a call back to confirm they got it on the truck that day. I was surprised that they actualy called back.

The next morning , I had the card maybe 40 minutes and I get a call from eVGA asking me how I liked it. It blew me away. The rep went on to explain the step up program in detail and ended the call with a thankyou and tech support numbers.

I doubt you'll notice any difference in performance (while gaming) and both companies are
very good to their customers, so then at this point it comes to bundles and availability,
those are what most likely will be the biggest diffence between them.
