Hey,
Well, after my hard drive commited suicide last week for no reason *only a year old* I got a new one this week and I just formatted it and installed windows XP. First thing I did when it loaded up for the first time was install Service Pack 2 for XP Home, and everything was working fine except for my video card drivers, which would show up as new hardware, then crash after it offered to look for drivers. So, I tried to install the video card driver, 5.3 catalyst for a Radeon 9600, and it seemed to go fine until I restarted the computer and it crashed again. I can prevent the crash if I cancel any new hardware install, but I don't have sound nor access to my two CD-Rom drives, both don't exist and are "broken" in the device manager.
I really need some help on whats going on. Thanks
