Evercool WC-202 mods?

I just bought the kit, it's in the mail. This will be my first foray into water cooling. I've read about people taking the main rad out of the 5.25 enclosure, is this an easy thing to do? Are there any other mods that can be done to this kit?

I have one and the only thing i did was put a push/pull fan config on the small rad..

also don't follow the intructions when it comes to the order make sure the cpu block is first and not the gpu... makes a big difference

Don't expect this kit to perform any better than a regular heatsink fan combination, but it sure is a lot more quiet.

just so you don't have your hopes up for 22C load temps

What sort of idle/load temps do you get?

28-30 idle 32-38 under load and gpu was 39-46 idle

that was my barton and my 6600gt

now on my A64 3000+ @ 2.4ghz I get around 34-38 idle and 40-43 underload..

that one who said don't expect extra low temps is right, but it is quiet even on high...

I like it and can't beat for under a $100, and expecially it is universal so I had no problem going from a barton to a sempron to the a64...

it was a 2500+ at 2.2ghz volts were stock.. I forget what that was though.

Well since the kit comes with a thermal probe, I figure I'll be [H] and do a write up on it. I'm going to take the main rad out of the unit and put it infront of my two 80mm intake fans, and strap a 120mm to the other side to pull air. I'll do the same with the smaller rad.

I found that using the thermal probe works more effeciently on the outside of the block, I tried to use it between the cpu and the block but I got some weird temps that weren't even close. Having it outside give me temps about 4or5 degrees off of the cpu temp...

I got the WC-202 in today, and right away I ripped the main rad out of the unit. Would using a 120mm fan on this be overkill? The rad is 120mm wide, but only 80mm tall.

Using a nice 120mm fan would be great. The more airflow the better. Also, you could get a much quieter fan in 120mm form than you could in 80mm form.

If you can cram it in, a nice Yate Loon or any fan at about 7v would do quite well.

And for christ's sake... paint the thing! It's beige of all colours!
