EUE limit on new GPU2 client

I've been having this problem since I upgraded the beta to 6.20. System is setup as follows:

X2 4400+
1 regular windows client running on core 1
GPU2 client configured and running on 8800gtx - "Do NOT lock cores to specific CPU" is checked.

Ever since I updated the beta, I've been getting a few errors, either EUE limit exceeded or unstable_machine.

I have tried reinstalling the Cuda drivers (177.35) and also tried reinstalling the gpu2 client. Neither has made the problem go away.

I've been searching here and on the folding forums, but nothing seems to quite pertain to this, or perhaps I've missed it. Log is below:

This is what repeats again and again, regardless of how many times I restart, reinstall, etc. It eventually ends with an "EUE limit exceeded. Pausing 24 hours." message. There seems to be something about the " mdrun_gpu returned -1" error, but I can't figure out what.

I'm not overclocking the card, but I am using EVGA Precision to run the fan at 100%. I tried the "-forcegpu nvidia_g80" flag to get it to straighten out and it did - for 1 work unit - and now it's back to the way it was.

What can I do to get this pumping out WUs again?
 
I guess something is borked. I suggest you uninstall it, delete any trace of the client then reinstall it. If this doesn't work, install 177.41 driver to see if it stops.

 
177.41 regular indeed. If you look at the changelog, you will see "Folding@Home support". I run this with my GTX 260 since it always fails with 177.35 driver.

 
Uhh... forgot one important note: I'm running Windows XP, so the 177.41 drivers won't work as they are for Vista only.
 
Ah, true... You need to get a hacked inf version to make it work.

 
ah, my bad. At any rate, I've found some 177.79 drivers from laptopvideo2go and it has started folding again with a new WU... we'll see if it continues after it finishes the first one or is going to be a PITA again.

Thanks for the help... hopefully it'll keep folding.

One other completely unrelated question: Should I keep the 1 core of my X2 folding on the 5.04 console version or upgrade it to the 6.20 console? Will it make a huge difference either way?
 
No real change so stay until you decide you are not lazy to upgrade :p

 
Just posting to confirm that my 8800GTX is folding like a champ on the 177.79 drivers!
 
Good to hear. Drivers are EVERYTHING when it comes to GPU2 folding
