ESXi vs disk failures on LSI controllers?

Thinking about a new ESXi build and see a lot of people are using LSI based controllers for their disk subsystem.

Is anyone here using LSI cards with local RAID storage in their ESXi systems?

From what I've found so far, I don't see a way to alert of a disk failure so how do you stay on top of a disk failure as it happens?
 
Thanks, I had read that page last night. It doesn't appear to provide a way to alert when a disk fails, unless I'm missing something?

Have vCenter send you an email for an alarm when you have a disk failure. You should be able to see the status of the individual disks under the hardware status tab, as long as they're listed, you should be able to use an alarm for them.
