I am helping a friend build a computer and we put it together and it says there is a ntdrl error or nt??? error and then to press ctrl+alt+del. I don't know what is wrong? any help is greatly appreciated

I did try to install it will not boot from cd

I assume you mean "NTLDR"

The error means that the PC is not finding the system files, and therefore can't boot.

It could mean you accidentally left a 3.5" floppy in the disk drive and it's trying to boot to it. Or it could be trying to boot to a CD that's bootable but dirty or scratched. It could also mean that the HDD is corrupt and you need to reinstall the OS.

It could also mean that you don't have your HDD on Master, so that it is not booting.
