Error 10004, its a.. port error or something, move if in wrong area.

can someone go down the list of the causes of this error for me?

it has to do with windows operating system and something blocking a call or something.

i have several anti spyware programs, and none of them are finding anything.

i have a couple virus finders etc, looking for stuff on my computer, and they find nothin :/

this error only happens in 1 game, as far as i can tell. While hosting only.


it just gives Error 10004, my net connection dies for about 10 seconds, then comes back to life. by the time the net comes back obviously im disconnected from the game i was hosting etc.

can anyone point me in any direction with this error?

ALSO, i am 56k, and my net never dies, unless it just randomly disconnects, which isnt happening, the connection to the net just seems to die for 10 seconds then comes back, no disconnect or anything.

My system specs
3ghz intel pentium 4 hyper threading.
1 gig pc 2100 ram
64 mb vid card.
and the intel 865 perl motherboard.

make sure to open the ports to your computer from the router if you are hosting. sounds more like a problem with the game than the connection.

i dont have a router? or do i? im 56k with a modem and a phone line
