question for veteran modders.... what are the main pieces of equipment you use for modding besides dremel / solderer

A veteran modder will use anything at his disposal. There is always a better way to do something, but thinking about what I use the most, I would say that a dremel and soldering iron are very common.

I use the power drill/drill press quite a lot.
A good set of wire connector removal tools is always nice as well. Makes modding cabling a snap.
A nice set of wire cutters and needle nose pliers are always on my bench.
A hammer for case persuasion.
A rubber mallet for case coaxing.
Pieces of scrap wood for various things.
Drill bits and taps.
A hole drill bit up to 1 inch with various sizes in between down to 1/8 inch.
Larger Hole cutting bits for common sizes like 80mm 92mm and 120mm.
Good set of screwdrivers and such
Scrap metal for grills and retention mechanisms.
Painting tools
Sandpaper of various grains
Buffing wheels
Grinder
Air compressor
Shop vac and Shop Air filtration system
Good thick pair of gloves
Safety goggles
Torch
Laser cutting system for plastic work and etching (wish I had one)

Man the list can really go on and on... There are so many things to use in good modding. But the biggest tool in use is definitely the brain. Creativity can rule... Non creativity just means your wasting your time...
