EPS12V Question...

Greetings!

I have a simple question about EPS12V PSUs. I'm looking to pick one up for a server build I'm piecing together and I'm a little stumped about the PSU to use.

I was just going to pick one up off the 'egg and pop it in, but I built a rig for a friend and used an Antec EarthWatts 500 and I noticed it had an 8-pin connector.

Since nowhere on the box, newegg, or direct from Antec's site does it say this is an EPS12V PSU, so this is my question... Is this 8-pin connector EP12V or EPS12V compatible? I'd rather pick one of these up for myself since it's a nice PSU and I can get a bit of a discount where I work ;) and I wouldn't have to wait for it to be shipped.

Any help would be appreciated.

I was just shopping around for a PSU with EPS12V myself. Although Newegg has a special catagory for ATX12V/EPS12V and so on there are a LOT of PSUs in the normal ATX catagories that still have the connector. The specification table doesn't always list the CPU power cord as being 4+4 pin or as having an additional 8 pin when it does.

Connectors: One 20/24-pin connector, one ATX12V connector and one EPS12V connector.

I noticed that as well on newegg... hence the confusion.

I see your google fu must be better than mine. lol. :p

Thanks!

Skip the Antec and get the Corsair HX520 or the VX550. Much better and it is EPS12V (the HX520 is, at least - check the 550).
