I always hear people "bitch" about how 1280x1024 is 5:4, and "distorts" their image?
But does this only apply to LCD's..and are Matrox the only cards that keep a 4:3 ratio at 1280x1024?

A PCIe X1 card means a card which fits in a PCIe X1 slot, and uses a single PCIe lane for data.

I have some old Matrox cards that use an AGP Pro slot, and they're great in the workstations that they're in. As long as you never really plan on gaming on them, they're great cards.

2D speed is really irrelivant (anymore), it is 2D quality that matters.

I use a dual head Matrox card at work, and am very happy with the quality that I get from it.

this is what i thought that made me think about getting a DVI card even cheaper than Matrox G550 but then some people then something along the lines of; you cant expect DVI quality to be identical between a $1 card and a $300 card !
