Does EM3 have some sort of timer to only recover your score every so often? I manually update it by double clicking my total score in the morning, but when I want it to update again now, it won't go and get the new score. I've noticed this before about it, but never gave it too much thought. Since I average over 2K PPD though, I'd like to see my points be able to be updated more often without having to close it and reopen.

Options -> General Settings -> Check My Stats at Stanford Automatically

I forget how often it checks though.

Sorry, I didn't read your question carefully enough. I dunno.

in short (quoted from the help file):

Check My Stats at Stanford Automatically: If you put a check in this box, EM will check to see if you have a connection to the Internet, then it will download your latest score from the Stanford web site. EM will do it about 30 seconds after EM first starts, then each time you upload results, EM will check your latest Stats.

The program seems to be working as designed. I suspect that by checking right after an upload you won't see the WU you just uploaded, IIRC it takes about 3 hours for the stats server to be updated ? sombody correct me if I'm wrong.

I wasn't running auto-update on it, so I have turned that on now and I'll see what happens. What I'm looking at right now on it is about 1000 points lower than the real time stat on the F@H server(which is where it grabs the stats from AFAIK.) If I click on my score to update it, it doesn't do shit, but if I click on it tomorrow morning, it will actually go out and check and get the new score.

I don't know, it just seems odd. I'm not the normal user monitoring 1 or 2 boxen, but 13 of them. I also have machines in other locations returning results, so I like to be able to see my new score without having to fire up my browser everytime. It looks to be an issue of 'caching' the old score for x number of hours before actually going out and checking it on a manual update.

Stanford doesn't allow other programs/websites to hit the main stats server, just a flat text file which doesn't seem to be updated as often (in my experience 3-6 hours behind the main stats server). Thats why the stats on hardfolding.com may appear to be lagging the Stanford stats pages. I suspect the EMIII is going after that source as well.

The same help file also has this gem...

...The stats server is not the most reliable server in the world. Expect to see an error or a timeout occasionally.

And with that I have exausted my knowledge on this subject :)

Hmmmm, interesting. I thought it was directly updated because the number is usually the same as the one on stanford's servers when I update it in the morning(IE, it's higher than what EOC and hardfolding have listed.)

That might explain why it's not updating when I click on it. Maybe it's updated right around the 8-9AM Central time timeframe normally.
