So you're saying you cannot edit posts you make in the comments section of news? That doesn't seem to make any real sense...if I make a typo and I realize it just after I post I cannot clean it up?
 
That is because people in the past like to say all kinds of horrible things, then go back and edit those, and sometimes do this on purpose to not get caught being less than civil. So the actions of others have dictated the rules. I suggest you read what you have before you post it, as it will be a final copy when you click the post button.
