Edifier C3 or something else?

I am thinking to buy the edifier C3, but most review said that the bass is very very soft, to make it sounds nicer, a sound card is necessity. Is it true?I am going to buy a new mobo P6T, will the onboard sound card enough to make the sound nicer?Anyone own a C3?or any other speaker that sounds nicer then C3 around the same price?Suggestions tq.
 
It is always recommended to get a good sound card along with a pair of good speakers.
