I'm pointing about 1Mh at it right now just to cash in on the first few days of bonus coins but this one is setup in a way that the early adopters don't get massive stockpiles so it'll be worth watching. If the network hash drops like a rock a latecomer could end up doing way better than the early jumpers. It at least brings an interesting twist to the payout structure.
 
I'm in, why not, it's not like I'm really making any money with all of the random altcoins I've mined so far.
 
I think I'm going to stop mining earthcoin already. It seems like the payouts are much lower than people expected for a brand new coin, especially since today is supposed to be a 5x payout day. Also, 2% premined, bleh.

yes the premine is crap and it appears all of the premines are in a single pool so not only did the developers premine a massive chunk but they're also trying to take 2% of future mining by having the only pool that is useful.

I'll keep about 1Mhash on it for about 12 hours and then stop.

The payout structure of this coin is actually fantastic because you don't get the massive bonuses for jumping in early so in theory guys mining 3mnths from now after the initial rush is dead will get far more coins once difficulty is down. the big problem with so many coins like DOGE is the first few days people get like billions and then it takes months to do a single days work from early on.

I will keep watching for new coins but earthcoin appears to be trash. I gave people a heads up without reading enough on it just because we are all going to have to work together on giving heads up and then discuss the viabilities of that coin.

THIS COIN SUCKS, MONITOR it and maybe come back in a few weeks!~
 
Why?

We have so many altcoins now.

I get why Litecoin is out there, and maybe Feathercoin, but from there on it's starting to get stupid.

Dogecoin really showed how stupid another altcoin is and ppl should have stopped thinking that we need another altcoin by now.

There is plenty of room for well managed coins. This earthcoin looked fantastic until I eventually found where tons of it was pre-mined before release

Everything comes down to how easy it is to buy stuff with the currency. Until coinbase takes LTC or something else then that currency just isn't relevant
 
I tried mining it for probably about an hour in a POOL no less. Once I realized I was getting absolutely no shares, I left and finished out my planned doge stake, and am currently stocking up on worldcoins for the next few days in the hopes that their "business plan" actually is legit.
 
well crap the freebies and short period of time I mined this coin I just made $140 when it just sold on coinedup so I guess even premined coins like crazy are still worth jumping into for a little bit
