What is this and how do I fix it???

Check sig for setup. It will post but I get the f1 for setup overclocking failed. I clead cmos twice and nothing.

I was running celeron before with no prob.

Help. :)

that means that it can't read the cpu's microcode. In other words, it can't read the data programmed into the chip such as the name string and all that.

the cpu should still work fine, though probably with a garbled name string. A bios update should fix it.

Ok cool....I shall try to install os.
 
Next issue...man this sucks.

Now it freezes within 1min of the xp cd starting up. Everything worked fine with the celeron, so I am not sure what is going on.

Any suggestions. I have tried 2 different xp cd's. Sometimes it makes it to the blue screen and sometimes it does not. It never gets to the point where I can select any options.

Why don't you put the Celeron back in and flash to the latest BIOS for your board. It's not going to do you any good to try and install XP if your CPU isn't supported by the BIOS on your board.

It has latest bios, just keeps freezing during xp install.
 
Something in the system is either configured wrong or is faulty.

Stop trying to install XP and run memtest for a good 6 hours.
 
clear cmos and reset bios to default settings ..that might do the trick ...
