ok i have an old setup i used for my 2400m that i would like to use onmy e6300... it has a small pond pump, ford mustang heater core, 1/2 id tubing and, i will have to get all new blocks... i am going to remote mount everything in my basement (i figure good for a few degrees c anyways) to keep its ugliness and sound away from the bedroom.. now the question in the loop, i am using a ga-965p-ds3 and7600gt...,should it got cpu-nb-vga or cpu-vga-nb the nb runs extremely hot on these... also what temperatures should i expext going from my tt big typhoon back to good old silent water cooling?? i was thinkin zalman for nb/vga and cpublocks any input on these??

What are the specs on the pond pump? Are you going for performance or silence? Usually heatercores require higher cfm fans to perform well so thats something to keep in mind.

Also the loop order doesnt really matter that much, at most you could see a 1c difference from shuffling things around.

Good parts will make a difference on the other hand... While the zalman blocks arent horrible they arent the greatest either. The storm or tdx are good jet impingement style blocks, storm being the higher end and also more restrictive. Although the storms really need a pump with good head pressure, you also may not see that much of a difference over a traditional block unless you remove the IHS. You could always go with an apogee or aquaxtreme block then. I usually dont bother putting a block on the nb because it just adds restriction to the loop and doesnt help with your o/cing. If you are sure the nb temps are the limiting factor in your o/cing usually a better hsf on the nb is all thats needed. As far as the gpu block goes stay away from full coverage blocks. I would recommend a maze4 or mcw60, they are pretty much the same so go with whatever is cheaper.

P.S. You may want to post this in the watercooling forums.

just replace old pump with new 250 gal per hour pump is still silent and will pump no problem up from the basement ... i will be using my old for heater core and all zalman blocks..
