So I purchased a budget build for my parents. I've purchased the following:

e4500 (m0 stepping)
Arctic Freezer 7 Pro
IP35-E
2gb Corsair
blah blah blah

I've oc'ed the chip to 3.1ghz at 1.2975 vcore. Idle temps are 44/44*, and loads are 68/68*, with case open. I got the temps from HWMonitor. Core Temps give me 15* lower. And yes, I've searched and found out about the Tjunction debate with these chips. Do these temps sound about right to you guys?

At first I thought they were rather high, so I've tried reseating the hs/fan 3 times. No change in temps. I was hoping to hit 3.3ghz with the AC7, but the temps are really limiting me. The system was completely stable at 3.3ghz, but temps were just too much. Does the AC7 just suck?

I guess my question is, any ideas on how to make the cpu run cooler? Maybe I'm just ranting because I was hoping to hit a 50% oc or better....

Agreed, after much debate, I am going to go with the Tjunction being at 85C for these chips.

i have an E4500 its at stock speeds (idk how to over clock) im getting 25 idle and 35-40 load with a coolermaster geminII

Just completely ignore temps (what's the point) and go by distance to tjmax, staying away from below 20, etc. For reference my e4400 is sitting at 46 or so with a 3d game running, and 27-29 with prime95 running. Overclocked to 3.2Ghz with 1.36v vcore showing in CPU-Z (after droop).

Ok cool... my distance to tjmax is like 31-32*. Next time I'm over my parents place, I'm bumping it to 3.3ghz. If my cpu fries, I'm coming for you guys.;)

Nah, if it fries, then it fries. I'll just swap it out with a faster chip.

BTW, thanks for the link.. it was a good read.

Wow I replaced the stock cooler on my E4500 with a Zalman 9500 AT and the reported temps at load have dropped 12C !!! (Check Ebay to find factory refurbed for cheap.) Now running in the low 40'sC under 100% load. I think my 3.02G OC is going up.....
