e server power supply question

I have a brand new 560 watt e server power supply that I want to use on a desktop computer how would I go about doing this the model number is 7000668-0000.
 
it has a 24 pin main power connector and a 8 pin auxillary +12V mobo connector? (that would make it an EPS12V which is standard)

how old is it? (brand new brand new or brand new to you?)
what did it come out of? (might give us an idea of its amps per rail, ideally that should be on a label somewhere)
whats its form factor? (normal ATX-PS\2, 1U. 2U?)
and whats it going to be powering?
 
My experience with IBM eServer power supplies is that they are proprietary.

But if you have the power supply there, take a look at it.

Look at the pins on the connector. Do their colors match that of another power supply?

Even though it's IBM, there's still a sticker on the PSU with rail ratings. What does it say on the sticker?

Look at the bolt pattern used to bolt the PSU to the case. Do they line up with an ATX case?

Your part number isn't correct. Your part number is probably from the actual manufacturer (Artesyn?) IBM FRU numbers are like 49J2345 or 45C23120, etc.
 
Its an hot swap power supply module so theirs are no cables.
dimensions are 2 3/8 inch thick, 6inch wide and 11inch long.

dont you mean its a hotswap power supply modual?
the complete supply generally has cables
but then Im not overly familiar with IBM components
but all my N+1 & redundant PSUs have harnesses


w\ 30A +12V its got the juice to do a modern config (provided the rating is for the modual)
not sure about the pinout I'll let jonnyGURU field that one
Im assuming your thinking about manufacturing or aquiring an interface to a wiring harness?

how stable that +12V rail is being held might impact a graphics card
its an older supply based on the wattage on the +3.3\5V so ithe +12V used to just power alot of drives, the fluctuation and AC Ripple on the +12V might be a bit much for less robust mobo Voltage Regulation Moduals and Graphics Cards, then again it might not, its still likely within the basic spec of 5% load regulation & 120mV AC Ripple

some cards like cleaner more stable power, some boards if overclocked do to
lots of unknown variables, but technically it should work
Id certainly try it and see before investing in another supply if you can figure out how to hook it up at a reasonable cost
if not ebay it
 
Ooooh... Ok. So you don't have one of the 560W Entry power supplies... you have a 560 redundnant?

Do you have the case too? Without that, it's pretty useless. ;)

Ice: They use a card edge connector to interface with the chassis. ;)
