I vote you do it over... it's much easier the 2nd time. I've torn so many of these apart I could probably do it blind now.

I think I will probably be doing just that - much simpler than trying to get all my stuff back.

ouch so you didnt remove your mods prior to sending it in???? eek

i love my 901 that i am typing on now, i am going to install a 1.8" 80gb drive, 2gb ram and install a vlite vista

:) got to love the eee pc family

that is ridiculous. You didn't even send it in under a warranty claim, you should be getting your ORIGINAL hardware back if you clearly wrote out instructions as to what was wrong.

I CANNOT believe this.

Yeah, it's crap. I am yet to get a call back from Asus. I think I am just going to start all over again. It would mean I need to find another touch panel controller though. :-/

It's worse because both times I spoke with people at the RMA dept before I sent it in never mentioned to me that they would just take the laptop, even though when I spoke with a cs rep on Friday she said they usually just replace them!

Well, I never received a call back. I have placed orders for all the parts I need to start over, however, I won't be picking up the project until winter break rolls around.

I need a laptop too much right now so this project will just have to wait :(
