Hello. I was hoping to find some help with a TV purchased over 1 yr and a half ago.
The TV is a DYNEX 37" 720 LCD. My brother bought it for moms as a present. The tv recently has begun to have problems.
The remote controls become unresponsive..... as well as the controls on the side of the tv.
The tv hangs anytime it hits hd/digital channels. For example in this area I go from 11, 12, 13..... then channel 14 on the tv goes 14.1114 ....... long number..... cant remember the exact numbers behind the decimal. Pretty much when I land on those channels...... the tv becomes completely responsive. The picture and sound is fine. However at that point I can not change channels or volume. I have tried different remotes and changing/adjusting with the side panel on the tv......nothing.
So I was wondering. Can I just buy a HDTV tuner box that can handle changing channels atleast....... I really do not want to deal with Dynex and returning the tv. I think they only give a year warranty anyways.... who knows. Its not even worth the trouble.
If anyone knows a good HDTV tuner that I can hook up to it (with the comcast coaxle cable) I would appreciate it. I want to hold off buying another one right now. She only watches 3 channels.
