dynamic vs basic disk..

ok, i just put in a new 160 gig.. i thought i was getting a WD, but it turned out to be a samsung spinpoint.. i went back and checked my newegg order and that said samsung too.. but oh well. but the samsung formatted to 3 gb less than my maxtor..

is this because one is dynamic and one is basic? and what does dynamic mean? should i make both dynamic or both basic, or just leave it as is?

also, a dvd drive showed up.. i just disabled it in disk manager and it went away, but how does a dvd drive show up when there isn't one??

lastly, how can i change my cd drive to E: and the samsung to D: ? i think i know how and i am going to try it.. but i remember not being able to change drive letters in the past..
