Dynamic vs basic disk for scsi

My Cheetah (boot drive) is set up as a basic disk (default for winxp installation). Would converting it to a dynamic disk improve performance? I read somewhere on storagereview xp pro has better performance for scsi disks that are dynamic...also, would I lose my data if I did this? See sig for specs...thanks.
 
I would recommend against it unless you've got a good backup plan. Dynamic drives are a pain in the tuckus.

 
I seriously think that there is litte difference between a dynamic and a basic disk in terms of performance, but I have yet to see _any_ benchmarks. From a compatibility strandpoint, I would go with a basic disk.
