I am shopping for a 19-inch LCD. My application is mostly web surfing, text editing and photo editing.

Since I do not game much, is DVI interface important?
 
Yes it is. DVI is more useful for work than for gaming since the picture quality will benefit from it, not the response time.
 
can someone summarize differences of DVI and VGA?
is it only picture quality?
..how much better can it get?? (my samsung is vga only :( )

Picture quality, yes.

With DVI there is no curvature, no need for calibrations, etc. You get a pixel perfect display everytime.

You still have to calibrate "pincushion," etc. on an LCD running an analog?
 
If you are web surfing, text editing and photo editing, you should be using DVI. Text/pics are a lot sharper with DVI...
 
if i use the dvi/vga adapter will it give the same results or no.

aka connect to the dvi side of my card but i still use a vga adapter form monitor ?
 
That will be the same as running off a regular VGA port.
