Yeah...well, I messed up again.

I ordered a DVI 6600GT from zipzoomfly.com, but I have a CRT monitor with VGA port.

By using a DVI-VGA converter, what will happen? What's gonna be the consequences?

Yeah really that is what the converter is there for, since most companies know that most people are not using LCDs just yet.
