Ok so I know that DVI and HDMI are supposed to be the best connections for Digital displays but I am still confused.

To me it seems there are multiple types of DVI cables?
I'm not sure about HDMI but I've seen different DVI cables. Like DVI-I and DVI-D.

Can someone fully explain to my the different DVI thingies?
Also which is better for viewing DVDs? HDMI or DVI

btw will Xbox 360 be able to connect with either of these?

It's the same sort of thing.
DVI-D is for HDMI
DVI-I is the standard used on PCs.

I haven't looked at the xbox 360 specs but I suspect it will work with HDMI and therefore DVI-D.
 
one of the accesories you will be able to purchase is a vga adapter, to my knowledge a dvi cable has yet to be announced.
 
which of those 2 DVIs you mentioned can be interchangable??

It's pretty simple actually =)

There are three different types of inputs/outputs and cables.

DVI-D: Only digital
DVI-A: Only Analogue
DVI-I: A combination of the two - you can use both analogue and digital signals.

It's because DVI was originally designed to replace D-SUB and therefore you had to be able to use the analogue signals too.

Some gfx cards come with DVI-I and others with DVI-D. DVI-D is fine in the most cases but if you have a DVI-I you can use analogue signals if you please =)

EDIT: Sorry, forgot: The HDMI is a digital connector used for both video and audio
