I plan on upgrading to dule LCD sometime around the end of the year / 1q 2005. However, I really don't want to upgrade video cards again at that time. How well do the DVI to AGP converters work? Good enougn to tie me over till i can use the dvi directly?

...what is a DVI to AGP converter?

i think he's talking about a dongle to connect the dvi to a crt monitor or non dvi flat panel, go to your local pc store and pick one up, they cant be very expensive

edit: vga was the word i was looking for, momentary idiocy attack on my part

there must be like 20 threads about this already...

use it...they work fine...

ya ment DVI to VGA sorry. Works good, all I needed to know.

2am usually dulls the mind in typing and remembering to use "search" lol >.<

That question doesn't make sense at all. Are you planning on buying an LCD with a VGA adapter only instead of DVI? Seems kinda a bad idea to me.

Or, does your card not have a DVI output, and you are under the impression there is some way to convert a VGA-only output to the DVI needed by good LCDs? If so, there is not. Those adapters are for carts *WITH* DVI ports so users can get 2 VGA ports on them for running dual-CRT monitors off the same card. DVI -> VGA works, but if the card only has a VGA adapter, there is no way to go VGA -> DVI.

Again my fault for posting when I was half asleep. >.<

I plan on going dule LCD near the end of the year (or maybe sooner) but just not yet. Since I will be going dule so soon I want to get a dule DVI out video card now. So I will be using my VGA monitor with the DVI only card for a while. Thats what I ment to say ^^
