Hey,

My dad and I were thinking about buying a dvd burner. We were thinking about an External, because that way we don't really have to care. My system is in my sig, my dads is a 2.6 celly with 256 and a 420, runs amazinly fast tho and my brothers and my other computer that I will not mention.

We just bought a new hometheater system, 62 inch and all the bells and whistles. 6.1 speakers (rear 3 in roof.) Its really nice.

My question is, for when we go on trips and stuff, it would be nice to back up our dvd collection, about 30+ and going strong, burn the occasional friends dvd that he paid for : ) and just some pics.

We were thinking external but I just realized they are way to expensive. Max is about 250 Canadian preferably less, I think we are gonna have to settle for a internal in my dads, however its kinda bad. So, if you can find an external thats cheap and does the job let me know. It does not have to go amazingly fast.

So if you know any website or anyhting can help me out, or suggest what I need just post here. Thanks

Actaully I Suggest a NEC2500A (it's a 8 Speeds Drive) and a USB 2.0/Firewire enclosure

The Drive in the UK cost's about £80 and the enclosure cost's about £30 of course this is all GBP but i'm sure you could assemble one for about 200 CND

btw, plz don't give me newegg, cuz they dun ship to canada.

you can give me drives listen on newegg, but dun tell me 2 buy from em

As jnex said, go to a B&M store in Canada, pick up an Nec2500A and a Firewire/USB2 enclosure. It makes a lot of sense.
