DVD Audio Problem

I have a noob DVD Audio question for anyone that can help me... (please!?)

I am trying to play a DVD on 2 of my computers but I can't hear the audio. I am using WinDVD Gold and the darn thing just doesn't want to play sound.

Anyhow, I never had to plug in the DVD-ROM's audio cable in the back so I don't think that is the problem... the DVD actually plays on my standalone DVD player fine so it is not the DVD since I tried 2 different DVDs. ANY other audio works fine on my computer.

Help please? :(

I spent hours on this before but I guess posting in this forum just turns the lightbulb on!
