Not sure if this should go under video card or soundcard section or HTPC but

Im trying to play some DVD Audio discs through my home theater system from my PC using HDMI and Total Media theater Player 5. The output is only showing PCM 48khz, not the 24bit/96khz the discs are encoded in. What gives?
 
Far as I remember only Creative sound cards could carry DVD-A codec and properly decode it. Not sure if it can be passed digitally unless you buy a high end reader (think higher end model Denon or Pioneer).
 
I tried out that codec recently, but it didn't seem to work with either of my dvd-a discs. I've successfully ripped and re-encoded one of the discs to 5.1 24bit/96khz flac, but haven't successfully decoded the other one yet. Good luck finding any reliable DVD-A support these days...
 
I think it is PowerDVD that has support for DVD-A. Did last time I used it anyway.
 
Wow I didn't know that FooBar supported DVD-A. I thought it was an Audigy 2 ZS thing only. I need to buy some DVD-As now.
