Not mine, working on a box for a friend,

After it lasted all of 30 secconds in prime/sandra/folding I knew something was wrong ;) .

Applied some as5 and that bad boy was stable for weeks
 
Unfortunately I don't have any pics of it but my ThermalTake Volcano 7+ used to be quite cat hair / dust vaccuum. Had to go in there quite regularly (once a month or so) and clean the dust out. The new Silent Boost coolers are much better at not collecting the dust, not to mention the drastic noise reduction :)

I should have taken a picture of the HSF on a P3 that I picked up from a friend. It looked about that bad, maybe even worse. The fan had actually stopped working and he continued to run it. I was shocked that the thing still worked. The temp sensor on the board is all sorts of screwed up now. I replaced the HSF but it is still showing a real high temp.

Looks like a smoker!
There was a thread/page somewhere once that was full of hilarious pictures of stuff found inside PC cases, from mold, to insects/eggs, to food, to the worst of dust and smoke debris.

Anybody have a link?
 
I worked on a computer a few days ago, i didn't take pictures, but the intake and the output ports on the case looked like it was covered by a shag rug. There was a lot of dust in the PSU too. I figured i would throw that lil story in the pot.
