Dumb 212+ Questions

I got my 212+ yesterday and installed it. I'm pretty sure I installed it correctly, and temps are great, so I'm probably being paranoid, but is it supposed to be... slightly crooked?

Here's a picture. I can't tell if it's just the fan, or the entire heatsink, or the RAM, or if my eyes are just playing tricks on me.

(Funny side-note, the picture was taken while my PC was on. It took me a moment to figure out why the fan was stationary.)

Also, what is the little pin for on the mounting system? You can barely make it out in the picture -- the silver part near the center of the RAM. I figure it's for applying extra pressure, but I fiddled with it a bit and it didn't seem to move from its original position.
 
if its in the center of the heatsink and it spins then its for applying pressure.. as far as the heatsink leaning are the temps consistent across all the cores? or are 2 hotter then the others?
 
Yeah, that's what it is. It's either broke, or I am using it incorrectly, though.

I'm on a dual core like a boss. They're within a couple degrees of each other under load.
 
It weighs 626 grams or 1.38 lbs, there is some flex in the mainboard, the one point is holding it centered and is where all the clamping force is, and the brace transfers the load to the backplate. Used to see large heatsinks rip off the mounting tabs on sockets when bumped or handled roughly, but removing the plastic peices and putting that erector set together means no more broken pieces.

Its fine and normal operation.
