dual channel?

so i initially bought a 512mb pc3200 corsair stick for my pc and i just received my second identical stick and installed it in the correct spot (using DIMM 1 and 3 as the manual instructs). Is it automatically running in dual-channel mode or do i have to mess with something somewhere? my mobo supports it.
 
Since you have the manual, read what it says. Option 2 is to look at the post screen when it boots.
 
From what I've seen, it depends on the motherboard. I know my Abit IC7 automatically detects dual channel mode and enables it without having to manually activate the option on the BIOS.

As for other motherboards, I'd suggest djnes' route and check in the manual.

There is also one more way to check if your memory is running dual channel in Windows and that's by downloading and running CPU-Z. Such a beautiful program, it'll tell you your memory timings even.

Depends, but it should be automatic. Get CPU-Z, check the memory tab. It'll tell you.
