DT990 Pro tuning?

I have an EQ profile for those in foobar and have it flat all the way across until it gets to 7KHz where I reduce the high end in steps with 20KHz being the most reduced. It's a matter of personal taste though so ymmv.
I just got mine few days ago and i'm not that sensitive to treble ( ultrasone 750's took care of that a while ago ), so i run them flat too, but i did play around just a bit with EQ like rezerekted but nothing noticable. In gaming i prefer to have nicer treble for detail.
I have to say i was impressed when i first tried them on. I compared them to Senn 598 open back and it's no contest at all. DT990's are now my go to gaming headphone, holy crap that positional audio is insane. I tried them with Asus Essence STX and music is really good, but for gaming when paired with Sound Blaster it's on a whole new level. Probably because SB is more bassy compared to STX. Immersive as hell, you are perfectly aware of everything what is going on around you no matter how close or far. Impressive bass for open cans.
Shit, now that you got me thinking about it probably i'm just going to waste my weekend tweaking damn EQ instead of playing.

These are replacing my Sennheiser Game One and the DT990 are crazy impressive over the Game One. Sound stage is Huge. Bass is just about perfect. I notice things in game now that I didn't even know exists sound wise. Ill tweak the eq abit and see if I can calm the edginess out of the highs without losing detail and immersion.

Yea, DT990pro are better for gaming with over my HD558 but they are not as comfortable due to the cups being shallow so for long gaming periods I still prefer HD558 due to the increased comfort.
I completely agree with the Cups. My ears do touch the inside velvet. But once im gaming or listen to music, after a couple mins I don't notice it at all anymore.
How is the Bass? I picked the dt990 because of that "fun" more bass sound..
On the AKG? Not bassy. The notes are there but not much impact. That is one reason why the directional sound is so good.
With Stax, it depends on the model. I really like the older Lambda Stax with an SRD-7. You need a speaker amp too. Not cheap but if you want fun? It is an amusement park.
